Iran’s council of physiology and pharmacology has been a member of the FAOPS since the beginning of its work and our council members have long been active corporators at the board of the FAOPS.
Dr. Fereshteh Motamedi as the vice- president of the FAOPS at the early stages, Dr. Semnanian as a member of the board of directors for several periods and Dr. Mirnajafizade who has been chosen as the vice-president in recent years, all take part in the board meetings of the FAOPS as a representative of Iran’s council of physiology and pharmacology. Moreover, Dr. Semnanian acts as the principal of the journal of the FAOPS at this union.
On the 8th annual congress of FAOPS held in Thailand, Iran, in a tight competition with China and South Korea, managed to gain the host position for the 2023 congress and on this occasion, at the closing ceremony of the 9th annual congress, the official banner of the congress was handed over Dr. Mirnajafizade as the representative of Iran’s council of physiology and pharmacology.
At the 9th FAOPS congress, March 29- March 31; 2019; Japan, in the honor of the 30th anniversary of the FAOPS congress establishment, 16 Asian and Oceanian physiologists and scientists were appreciated, two of whom, were the prominent professors of Iran’s council of physiology and pharmacology; Dr. Fereshteh Motamedi; physiology board member at Shaheed Beheshti University of Medical Science and Dr. Saeed Semnanian; physiology board member at Tarbiat Modares University.
Furthermore, Dr. Saeed Mirnajafizade was chosen as the vice-president of this federation which is a great honor to our medical community.
